Our approach

Zeeka is built to collect as little as possible. You participate under an anonymous display handle, and we do not require your real name. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, how we protect it, and how you can have it deleted.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

What we collect

  • Anonymous display handle — the name shown next to your messages. It does not have to identify you.
  • Phone number (optional) — only if you choose to sign in by phone. It is used to verify and secure your account and is stored encrypted/hashed at rest. If you use anonymous sign-in, we do not collect a phone number.
  • Messages you post — Zeeka is a public stream, so the messages you send are public and are stored, organized, and summarized by the Service.
  • Basic device and usage data — for example device type, app version, and diagnostic/usage signals used to keep the Service running and to fight abuse.

How we use your data

  • To operate the public stream and create the AI-distilled, mood-labelled rooms and catch-up summaries.
  • To verify and secure accounts (including phone sign-in).
  • To moderate content, enforce our Terms, and keep the community safe.
  • To diagnose problems and improve the Service.

Security and encryption at rest

Sensitive data — including any phone number — is encrypted/hashed at rest, and data is protected with appropriate technical and organizational safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access.

Data retention

We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, your personal data is scrubbed and your messages are removed or anonymized. Limited audit and security logs may be retained without personally identifying information for fraud prevention, safety, and legal compliance. Residual backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

How to request deletion

You control your data. You can delete your account and personal data at any time from within the app, or contact us as a fallback. See Account Deletion for step-by-step instructions, or email privacy@zeeka.app.

Children

Zeeka is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
